Traction Sand supplied to NI Railways

Traction sand has been recently supplied to Northern Ireland Railways, filling their Silo with Irwins Traction sand. The sand increases the traction of the drive wheels. The train has an electronic traction control system that automatically starts the sand sprayers when the wheels slop or when an emergency stop is needed.
